The founder of El Zagal, Francisco Tejedor García started in 1905 producing Sobrasada, a traditional sausage from the island of Mallorca. Since then the Tejedor family has continued producing their Sobrasada, following the guidelines of the Protected Geographical Indications “SOBRASADA DE MALLORCA”.
EL ZAGAL is a family Company, still run by the Tejedor family, and it is currently the fourth generation of the family.
The Sobrasada de Mallorca is a cured pork sausage seasoned with paprika, which gives it a distinctive red color. The finely chopped meat gives the sausage a fine and creamy consistency.
The company has a modern production facility and its own laboratory, which allows tight control of both raw materials and all manufacturing processes.
